there is another much better source of information for beginners: the 
slides of our AOSD 2004 tutorial "Aspect-Oriented Programming with C++ 
and AspectC++". The slides contain a step-by-step introduction into 
AspectC++ and you can also download the source code of the examples. You 
find both at www.aspectc.org on the "Publications" page. The same 
examples will probably become the core of the Programming Guide, but 
don't ask me for a date. There is still a lot of work to do in the 
Language Reference :-(.

BTW, at this year's AOSD (Chicago, march 14-18) we will present a new 
AspectC++ tutorial with revised slides. That's the easiest way to learn 
AspectC++. The early registration deadline is february 12th.

PS: I'll add a note to the Reference Manual that the Programming Guide 
is not written, yet. Sorry for that.
