Hi Michael,
use "make SHARED=1" to compile and link ac++. The problem is that some
Linux libraries are not intended to be linked statically. If you want to
build a statically linked binary (as we do it for release builds), you
have to configure and compile libxml2 on your own. Thereby you can avoid
the dependencies, which cause the errors messages you have seen.
I can also send you a binary version of the latest ac++, if it still
doesn't work.
